Los Flemings

Once upon a time (over three decades ago...) little Flemings camped and played at Cliffside Lake outside Highlands, NC. Since then the camping area has been converted to picnic spots but the lake is still open for swimming. Camping is now available at Van Hook Glade and a trail connects the two areas.







We took advantage of the proximity to Highlands to camp for the weekend before dropping Sam off at The Mountain for his first week of sleep away camp.



And once again, in the new millennium, little Flemings were back at play in Cliffside Lake.


We were also joined by our friends, the Hattaways, who were celebrating their youngest daughter's sixth birthday. Her mom is starting a photography business and took some birthday pictures at the lake. They look a lot better than mine and she's posted them to her blog.
