Happy New Year
A belated happy new year from Los Flemings World HQ. It was a busy holiday season starting with a visit from Grandpa Bunk just before Christmas. He managed to escape Chicago in the midst of bad weather and airport chaos. We had a nice visit and he gave Sam his first chess lesson.
Next, Frank and Donna drove in from Sylva for our Christmas celebration. They departed the day after Christmas, repacked in Sylva and then headed into the wintry weather on their way to Wisconsin. We departed the same day for central Florida for a visit with Greatgrandma Dotti in Winter Haven and a stop in Orlando for my Christmas surprise - tickets to see the Blue Man Group at Universal Studios. We all enjoyed the show and the balmy Florida weather. On our way back north we stopped near Apopka for a canoe excursion on the Rock Springs Run the flows into the Wekiva River.
We stopped over in Mt. Pleasant to ring in the New Year with Grandpa Glenn, Grandma Maxine and Greatgrandma Adelle. Sam stayed behind while Mame and I returned to Cary so I could get back to work. Then last Saturday we got a canoe trip in on the Little Pee Dee River near Dillon, SC. Then we met up with Grandpa Glenn and Sam for the hand-off. And this week we've been back to school at Heartwood and Mame has started her new rotation here in Raleigh and finally feeling like we're recuperating from all the holiday excitement and travel.
Hope your new year is off to a great start.
