Back in the classroom
It's back to class for all the Flemings but this time I'm on the other side of the desk. In the fall a brochure caught my eye for computer classes taught in Spanish through Wake Tech Community College. Browsing through it I noticed a request for additional instructors and called the number. I met with the coordinator of the program last November. She was encouraging but scheduling and getting enough students together to make a class were possible impediments.
Then she called last Wednesday to see if I would be interested in teaching a class that started the following Monday (that is, last night). Mame and I looked at our calendars and agreed that it was possible. The next thing I knew I was standing in front of 12 people from all over Latin America in a computer lab with 2.5 hours to fill - in Spanish. Everyone survived and they promised to come back on Wednesday night for more. We'll see.
