Evergreen Adventurers
Jack's class got their first day on the ropes course this October. The weather was too blustery for Ford's class, they got a day on the indoor climbing wall and try again in the spring. |
During recess one of the fourth grade associate teachers, Mr. Michael, has been supervising riders on the pump track. The boys have been getting in lots of laps.

Fall Family Night
At the end of October the Evergreen Fourth graders showed off their "pages" from "Diary of a Norther Cardinal"
BRAKES
On a Saturday morning in October, Sam attended the B.R.A.K.E.S. teen driving program at the Zmax dragway in Concord. After some classroom instruction, he had the chance to get behind the wheel and practice collision avoidance, drop wheel scenario, panic braking, skid recovery and more. It was a great program and well worth the trip.
Big Bald Bird Banding
The big Expedition in fourth grade this fall was all about birds. Each class got to go to the bird banding station on Big Bald twice to learn about the migratory birds that are caught and banded during the fall migration. They learned how to check mist nets and how to gather data on the birds that were caught. Then the students got to release the birds!

Gauleyfest
Back in mid-September we loaded up the entire family for a road trip to WV. Sam joined his Keener friends for the alumni trip and Mame got her first trip down the Upper Gauley in the raft with our friend Brian at the helm.
