Adventure boys

Sunday 11/14 we dropped down into SC for a fall afternoon of exploring on Lake Adger. We were able to go a little ways upstream on the Green River where it meets the lake before Ford decided he was ready to cool off. He popped up fast and I caught him on the way by before he could catch his breath. We had him in dry clothes and warmed back up before we got back to the boat ramp.

The following weekend we hooked up the pop-up and enjoyed a weekend of camping at Table Rock State Park. It was crisp in the mornings but we had beautiful afternoons. And thanks to our little heater we were cozy at night.

Halloween

Dracula started the Halloween festivities at school on Friday for snacks and the parade before heading to Sylva for a pumpkin trail. He was back Sunday for trick or treating in the hub of Kenilworth Halloween activity.

Mark your calendars. The neighbor who coordinates the pumpkin display says he has two more years until his youngest daughter graduates and then he is getting out of the pumpkin business.

Fall fun

Before Halloween we trekked down into South Carolina for an afternoon at Denver Downs Farm near Anderson. It was a Disney of Agri-tourism experience with 3 sizes of corn mazes, a zip-line, a corn bin, an obstacle course over hay in the barn, a pumpkin patch and more.

Sam picked out pumpkins for his brothers.

Jack ponders the safety of the 'cow train' ride.

Ford is amazed by it all.

Flat Sam

Sam's class did a project based on the book Flat Stanley where a boy is flattened and so his parents mail him to their vacation destination. Flat Sam (in the blue shirt) went to visit Grandpa Bunk in Montreal in September and came back in time for the Fall Family Night at Evergreen.

Our thanks to Bunk for hosting Flat Sam and doing such a great job documenting his visit. And now, Bunk is off to Guam for his next assignment. Flat Sam may be hitting the road again soon.
