The February Thaw
In order to escape yet more snow we flew to Orlando a couple of weeks ago and we're finally recovering from the experience.
Here the boys are loaded in the 4 wheel drive ready to brave the trip to the Asheville Airport after about two inches fell the night before.
The main motivation was to visit Mame's grandmother, Dotti and introduce her to Ford and Jack. And of course be entertained by Sam.
We also squeezed in a day at EPCOT/Disney. Sam had a blast although our timing was a little off. The parks were packed on the Monday following the Daytona 500. Who knew?
The gang relaxes with Nana Banana in Winter Haven.
Talking to Sam after the trip it was a little hard to determine the highlight. The Sunday morning run to the local donut shop in Winter Haven rivaled the rides at Disney.
On top of it all we were able to have lunch with Mame's cousin, Adam, his wife Roxanne and their charming son Jackson.

Feeding frenzy
Like sharks to chum, they were on top of the pile of cheerios in a flash. I was lucky to escape with my fingers.

Happy Birthday Mame

The Yolks on him
Monday was the rescheduled performance of Sam's class play Character Matters. The premise was a council meeting of fairy tale characters to resolve conflicts. For example the Three Bears were there to confront Goldilocks. Sam had a "break" through performance as Humpty Dumpty in order to illustrate the need for taking personal responsibility for risky actions.
I owe thanks to Dandy for coming along to keep Jack and Ford company.

Snow report
With our third winter storm bearing down on us, we take a moment to look back at a now familiar scene from last Friday.
