Drifting back in time
All the way to Thanksgiving. One of our friends and a guest that day was Lenka Hattaway who is working on starting a photography business. She put together these composites - like something out of a magazine. If only it had really been that peaceful and serene....

The January dining tour
Ms. Lynn made the trip up from Atlanta this weekend for a visit. The originally planned visit was postponed due to December's snow storm.
The weekend was a culinary blitz with Friday night roast chicken and risotto here at world headquarters. Saturday morning started off with brunch and ended up with the highlight of the weekend - the adults treating themselves to dinner at The Admiral in West Asheville (we'll gladly return with any other visitors). Sunday's outing was to Asheville Pizza & Brewing for a slice and The Fantastic Mr. Fox, capped off with an afternoon treat (pictured here) at the French Broad Chocolate Lounge.

Co-explorers
Like Lewis and Clark or, or, Kirk and Spock... Boldly going where no babies have gone before. Mobility is the word of the year for Ford and Jack. Both have mastered the 'commando' crawl and have shown spurts of crawling on all fours. They can also make the transition to sitting-up and back down again. These days you have to watch where you're stepping in our house.

Happy 2010
The holiday daze has lifted along with the mercury in the thermometer and Los Flemings is emerging from hibernation for another year of excitement. Between holidays, snow days and sick days, it has been a busy few weeks and we're starting to get back into our routine. School is back in session, mom is back to work and the majority of the snow has melted. I'll get to some holiday review soon but in the meantime, here's big brother reading Brown Bear, Brown Bear to his brothers after dinner.
